Kew Beach Day Camp was established in 1993 by our Camp Director, Rick Graham, as a fun, exciting summer day camp for his son, Adam. Since then many children have enjoyed the camp, including Rick's two younger children, Megan and Patrick.

Rick grew up in the Beach Community and took Recreational Leadership at Centennial College. After a 20 year career in social work, Rick now works as an Educational Assistant with the Toronto Catholic District School Board.

Our goal has always been to provide a safe, positive and FUN place for kids to grow and spend the summer. This is evident in our only two rules at Kew Beach Day Camp:

1. Have FUN!!!Laughing

2. Listen to your cousellor.

Speaking of counsellors, our staff are all well skilled, local young adults who enjoy working with children and provide a safe, fun, friendly, and positive atmosphere at camp each day.

We take great pride in our quality of services by offering a ratio of no more than 7 campers per staff memebr.

We are located at Corpus Christi Church, in Toronto's Beach community. It is just a short walk from swimming pools, parks, the library, and more!

Major Events in the History of Kew Beach Day Camp

1993- Kew Beach Day Camp is established by Rick Graham.

1996- Two camp favourites were introduced:

Ga-Ga Ball, a favourite indoor ball game, was brought to camp by one of our orginal counsellors, Matt.

SWAT, an outdoor game invovling chasing, tagging, and rescuing hostages, was invented by two of our campers, Adam and Ryan.

2001- Our first full play was produced. It was the musical Grease. Megan and Fiona shared the role of Sandy, with Megan playing the sweet, innocent Sandy 1 and Fiona being the sassy Sandy 2. The play was directed by two of our staff members at the time: Dylan and Katy.

2004- The Teen Program was introduced. It was great year involving many rounds of mini-golf, a few movies, and one very rainy, yet super-fun adventure at Wakestock.

2006- This was the first year of our Cottage Camp. The week was great and we had so much fun! Lots of memories were made like: building our tree fort, and adding on to a pre-exsisting fort, Fort Awesome; playing many rounds of poker, President, and Crazy Eight Countdown; one brilliant campfire; certain campers (you know who you are) playing with swords and water guns (providing hours of entertainment for those spectating); and, of course, Andrew's wonderful guitar playing.

2009- This will be our BEST SUMMER EVER! We are continuing the favourite activites of years pasts, going on some awesome day trips, and having amazing Thursday Theme Days! And best of all, we hope that YOU will be joining us!
